GuardianLink has joined with gaming hub IndiGG, the Sub-DAO of YGG, to create and promote the Web3 gaming ecosystem in South Asia. GuardianLink has popularly been associated with artists like Amitabh Bachchan and Stan Lee by managing their NFT sales. These platforms and their user base of 65K online gamers are on a mission to aid gamers in monetizing their virtual gaming skills.

The co-founder and COO of GuardianLink - Kameshwaran Elangovan, said that similar to Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok influencers, blockchain gaming has all the ability to become a dependable earning source in the gig-economy period, if not for a full-time career. He firmly believes that NFT has the power to transform the online gaming space in Asia.

Play-to-Earn games (P2E) have especially become popular post-pandemic. According to market tracker DappRadar, gamers spent $4.5Bn on NFTs the previous year. The amount one earns depends on the game token value - in the form of crypto developed on a blockchain. These games also offer a respite amid Covid-19, where nations such as Thailand and the Philippines saw millions of users signing up for Axie Infinity (NFT game) due to rising unemployment.

Asian countries also lead the Metamask adoption, a crypto wallet leveraged amid NFT online game. India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, and China occupy the top 10. According to a report by PWC, global virtual gaming alone is expected to grow at 27.81% yearly.

The esports gaming market in India is expected to develop to be one of the biggest in the world. A KPMG study claims that after 5-years of significant growth, the value is predicted to triple, reaching from $1.7Bn to $5.7Bn by 2025.
