First Green Hydrogen-based Fuel Cell Launched in India: EV Toyota Mirai
On the 16th of March Indian Union Minister - Nitin Gadkari launched the first green hydrogen-based project, Toyota Mirai, in the country. This advanced fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) is the first project in India that targets creating an ecosystem for such cars. Being powered by Hydrogen, FCEV is one of the most excellent zero-emission solutions.

Energy Future for India
Mr. Gadkari said, being completely eco-friendly, there are no tailpipe emissions other than just water. In addition, Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated that Toyota Mirai is powered by a green Hydrogen fuel cell battery pack, which has the potential of offering a range of up to 650km in a single charge, with a refueling time of just 5 minutes.
This fuel can be produced from renewable energy and extensively available biomass. Mr. Gadkari said the tech adoption to tap into hydrogen's ability will play a crucial part in securing a clean energy future for India. Toyota added, "Now, we are proud to introduce the second generation, with a 30 percent increase in range, better handling, and sharper styling."

According to an official statement, Mr. Gadkari said the country is dedicated to cleaner energy and a low-carbon method for obtaining accelerated economic growth.
